Organisational sustainability readiness: A model and assessment tool for manufacturing companies

Manufacturing plays a major role in the economic and social development of society, yet this often comes at high environmental cost. Despite great advances our understanding sustainability issues solutions developed to tackle challenge, current production consumption models are still largely unsustainable. Strong industrial actions required move towards safer cleaner practices respectful planetary boundaries. This paper puts forward novel approach for top middle management manufacturing companies build capabilities sustainable by assessing their organisational readiness. The proposed model tool readiness were based on themes emerging from empirical data collected via interviews focus groups six companies. resulting consolidated validated with relevant literature create four levels readiness, displaying crescendo operations shop floor that positively affect performance. Finally, an application was used further validate demonstrate how it can help develop roadmap more industry.
